A multi-purpose cold work tool steel
In the cold work tool steel area, ENASTEEL® is an up-date answer to actual manufacturing and operating conditions.
For example, in automotive industry, ENASTEEL® fits perfectly with processed material trend (high thicknesses, very high strength steels, aluminium...) and with high manufacturing rates used actually.
With practical values located between those of conventional steels (X160 CrMoV12/AISI D2) and of steels resulting from the powder metallurgy, TENASTEEL® solution appears effective and competitive. It allows improvement of productivity of the press tools, thanks to the increase in lifespan of active parts.
TENASTEEL® is also perfectly adapted to the current designs of the tools ; in particular, it lends itself to all the surface treatments and coatings, and this, without any restriction.
Properties
The performance of a tool steel is measured mainly by the contribution which it makes to the total step of reduction costs of exploitation of the tools.This contribution is expressed with through, of the service life of the active parts, and the economies which it makes it possible to carry out:
- by the reduction for the maintenance costs,
- by the increase in the productivity of the machines.
Chipping & cracking resistance related to the toughness (non brittleness) of steel
Compressive strength
Resistance to the deformation and hammering to related to the compressive strength of steel. In severe conditions, life time of TENASTEEL® is greater than the one of X160 Cr Mo V12 / D2 / W1.2379
Wear resistance
Wear resistance of TENASTEEL® is close to the one of X160 Cr Mo V12 / D2
